The Powerball drawing held Feb. 22, 2017, for what grew to be a $435.3 million Powerball jackpot created 55,962 winning tickets in Tennessee, including two worth $50,000 each. Those were sold in Munford and Ooltewah, while the winning jackpot ticket was sold in Indiana.
For the third time in just over a week, a lucky Tennessee Lottery player has won a Tennessee Cash jackpot. This time it’s an as-yet-unknown player who purchased a ticket in Columbia that matched all six numbers drawn Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017, to win $220,000.
The Tennessee Education Lottery marks its 13th anniversary today with the announcement that it has surpassed the $4 billion mark for dollars raised for education. The Lottery also announced its second quarter results, which yielded a record second-quarter return of $89.6 million to the Lottery for Education Account for the period Oct. 1 through Dec. 30, 2016.
